New Years Eve Wedding | Farmington, MN
New Years Eve Wedding | Farmington, MN: The last wedding of 2016 was a beautiful winter wedding with a beautiful couple. Katie and Jake had a whirlwind romance full of love. These two are truly meant for one another and it showed with all the love and support from their family and friends that day.
Farmington, MN is home to Church of the Advent, a gorgeous little white church that was built in 1872. A bright red front door against the white church and white snow along with tea light candles, it was the perfect setting. A heartfelt ceremony began at 3:30pm with a bagpipe player where Katie walked down and was given away by her two brothers.
The two bridesmaids and two groomsmen were their four children. It was a very sweet ceremony and the church was so nice and intimate. It was unlike any church I had shot in before. Just stunning and such a historical spot. After doing all of the family pictures, we snuck away to a bar quick. Jake and Katie got to enjoy a cocktail together as husband and wife for the first time. Taking a little time to be together just the two of you before heading to the reception is a nice thing to do. You soak up that moment together newly married and have a little time to yourselves.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to Rudy’s Red Eye Grill at the Holiday Inn in Lakeville for cocktail hour and the reception in the beautiful banquet hall of the Holiday Inn. http://www.hilakeville.com
For their New Years Eve Wedding, they had stunning decor of blacks and reds with poinsettias and pine cones. Jake also hand made all of the centerpieces for the tables. A very nice slideshow was put together by the Mother of the Groom. The first dance between the newlyweds kicked off the reception. From there they had dinner which was a delicious Italian buffet with pastas and chicken marsala.
The dance then started with the groom and his daughter, and the bride and her father doing the father-daughter dance. From then on the party was started. DJ kept the dance going all the way til Midnight when we counted down to the New Year. In conclusion, this was a great way to kick off 2017!
Cheers Katie and Jake!
