January 6th, 2024 Elysian MN | Ahavah Cottage Wedding
The first wedding of 2024 was just as magical and beautiful as this couple! This Ahavah Cottage wedding was down in the small town of Elysian, Minnesota. It’s a stunning new venue, owned by a newly married couple themselves. You can tell they thought out all the details to make this a memorable place to get married.
Beautiful Blue and Gold Details
Where do I begin? Details, details, details! Tatum must have spent hours with all the intricate details for their wedding day. There were custom glitter snowflake ornaments with Taylor Swift lyrics on them, (her favorite artist) handmade floral appliques on her wedding heels that matched her veil. Custom blue stone earrings to match her headpiece. Her father’s hockey laces wrapped her bouquet, gold and navy blues everywhere from the gift bags to the ring box decals. I was just amazed at all of this and so very impressed!
A True Love Story told by Nate and Tate:
In July of 2019, Nathan & Tatum met in Rochester, Minnesota after college. Where Nate was just starting work at IBM in Finance and Tatum was starting work at Mayo in Surgery (a typical Rochester couple working at the two largest companies in town). Little did they know the moment they met would be the beginning of a beautiful love story. A love at first sight kind of thing. A spend every spare minute together kind of thing. Except it took 8 months for Tatum to realize this and Nate a whole lot of waiting for the “Official Boyfriend Title”. And sure enough there is nothing like going through a global pandemic to really get to know someone. There was a lot of board games played, movies watched, and neighborhood walks together to solidify their relationship.
The Engagement:
Fast forward over 3 years, after making Tatum patiently wait or impatiently depending on who you ask… Nathan got down on one knee on December 23, 2022 at the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel (because it was a Blizzard with -27 degree windchill so his outdoor plan was not going to work).
I am so grateful for the ability to capture love stories and wedding days. Thank you Tate and Nate for having me.
