A Romantic Early Fall Five Event Center Wedding in Minneapolis
Julia and Evan’s Five Event Center wedding in Minneapolis was one of those days that felt joyful from beginning to end. From the warm early fall sunshine to the thoughtful details woven throughout the celebration, their wedding was the perfect reflection of who they are as a couple—kind, genuine, and surrounded by people who love them deeply.
Getting Ready in the Heart of Minneapolis
Julia and Evan chose Five Event Center because Minneapolis is home to them, and they love everything about the city. The historic venue sits in the vibrant uptown neighborhood and has such beautiful character—exposed brick, tall windows, and that iconic staircase that always photographs so beautifully.
The day began with a calm and happy energy as Julia and her bridesmaids got ready together. The wedding party wore shades of blue, which tied perfectly into the couple’s color palette of blues, greens and white. The soft tones felt especially fitting for the early fall setting.
One of my favorite design elements of the day was the flowers cascading down the staircase at Five Event Center. It created such a romantic focal point and set the tone for the entire celebration.
The Sweetest First Look
Before the ceremony, Julia and Evan shared a first look, and it was one of the sweetest moments of the day. These two are truly the kindest couple, and the way they looked at each other in that moment said everything.
After photographing so many weddings over the years, I can always tell when a couple has that deep, easy connection—and Julia and Evan absolutely do.
Since I knew we’d want beautiful portraits outdoors, I had scouted a nearby spot earlier in the day. Finding great portrait locations ahead of time is something I always try to do so couples can relax and simply enjoy their time together without worrying about logistics. The warm sunshine and early fall atmosphere made it the perfect backdrop for their portraits.
A Meaningful Ceremony Surrounded by Loved Ones
Julia and Evan’s ceremony took place inside the beautiful space at Five Event Center, with friends and family gathered closely around them. The overall vibe of the day was exactly what they described: romantic, authentic, and joyous.
One of the most meaningful parts of the ceremony was when both of their mothers gave readings. Moments like this always make a ceremony feel incredibly personal, and you could feel just how much love surrounded them in that room.
Another small detail I loved was the wedding date itself. Julia is a big Taylor Swift fan, and the couple chose to get married on the 13th—a fun nod that Swift fans will definitely appreciate.
Celebrating with Dinner, Dancing, and So Much Joy
After the ceremony, the celebration continued with a lively reception right there at Five Event Center. One of the things I love most about a Five Event Center wedding is how seamlessly the space transforms from ceremony to celebration.
Guests gathered for dinner, heartfelt toasts, and a dance floor that quickly filled with energy. Throughout the evening, there was such a warm atmosphere—friends hugging, family laughing, and everyone clearly so happy to celebrate Julia and Evan.
Looking around the room, it was easy to see just how loved these two are.
