Minneapolis Maternity Session – Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of doing a Minneapolis maternity session with a couple who was expecting their first baby together, a baby boy. We shot literally TWO days before her due date and up until we met in the park that Sunday I was nervous we wouldn’t get the photos done before she had the baby. It was a gorgeous day and we got some awesome shots!
One thing we talked about before the shoot was wardrobe – what is a good outfit to wear for a maternity session? I like to have two different looks for a little variety. My favorite look for maternity is a long maxi dress (which Julie nailed, see below) and then another more casual day to day outfit. Another fun idea is to include props or colors based on if you’re having a boy or a girl. Julie used a blue scarf since she is having a boy and it added a lot to the Minneapolis maternity session.
Here is a great blog post by a woman named Ashlee who describes what is good to wear and what to do when in doubt. http://wheremyheartresides.com/2012/08/21/what-to-wear-for-maternity-photos/
This Minneapolis maternity session was a really fun shoot and it was fun getting to know the couple better together and hear about their plans for their new baby. Below are some of my favorites from the shoot! Best wishes to you Aaron and Julie and your new baby boy!
