Crosslake Wedding | Sami + Jeff

Crosslake Wedding | Sami + Jeff

On September 9th, 2017,  Sami and Jeff had an absolutely beautiful day for their Crosslake wedding. Sami had everything all well thought out and planned to the tiniest details. From the sentimental pieces in her bouquet to the attire for their dog, Nico, to the table names at the reception. Many little details like this made their day so special.

The ceremony was at the beautiful Immaculate Heart Church in Crosslake. Then their reception was at her parents place which was a gorgeous outdoor setting on the lake. Hearing that Sami had wanted her wedding to be there since she was young was so special. You could tell family was very important to both Sami and Jeff and both of their families were wonderful to spend the day with.

Her bridal gown was stunning with a long lace train. Sami was walked down the aisle by both her father and mother which is where Jeff saw her for the first time that day. Seeing this moment as a photographer never gets old and the beautiful raw emotion just captures my heart.

Below are some of the highlights from throughout the day of Sami and Jeff’s Crosslake wedding. Cheers!

Styled Shoot

Styled Shoot | June 30th, 2017

So I put together my first Styled Shoot on June 30th after a few months of organizing it and inspiration from my Shutterfest class by Jewels Gray (Denver, CO) I worked with a handful of lovely people and am so excited with how it turned out and thanks to everyone who was apart of it. I was watching the weather like a hawk because it was supposed to storm and then rain on and off… but Mother Nature ended up being on my side and the rain stopped by early afternoon so we could shoot in the early evening.

Bridal Aisle in Osseo, MN is fantastic and I rented a gorgeous, unique, high-low bridal gown from them. Brides – you must go here when purchasing a dress – their staff is so knowledgeable and helpful. On top of that, they have an extensive amount of brand new dresses at discounted prices – amaze! My model, Marilyn, is a beautiful person inside and out and this dress fit her like a glove and we knew it was the perfect one for this. She rocked it in that dress and was so fun to work with.

My make-up artist, Taylor, brought her energy to the shoot and applied a beautiful bridal application on Marilyn. She executed just the look I was looking for and it looked fabulous – thanks Taylor!

I also had a very talented jewelry designer, Norah, come to the shoot with pieces she had made specifically for this this. We had a hard time choosing between the gold and the brass because they both worked so well for the styled shoot. She had delicate beading and lace – my weakness – so pretty!! They looked so good with the dress and makeup.

The role of our Groom went to my handsome husband and assistant, Nathan. It’s always nice to see him in a suit ( gush ). It was such a fun night and I truly thank you all, Marilyn, Norah, Taylor, Nathan and Bridal Aisle for pulling this shoot off. Below are some of my favorite pictures from the styled shoot.

New Years Eve Wedding | Farmington, MN

New Years Eve Wedding | Farmington, MN

New Years Eve Wedding | Farmington, MN: The last wedding of 2016 was a beautiful winter wedding with a beautiful couple. Katie and Jake had a whirlwind romance full of love. These two are truly meant for one another and it showed with all the love and support from their family and friends that day.

Farmington, MN is home to Church of the Advent, a gorgeous little white church that was built in 1872. A bright red front door against the white church and white snow along with tea light candles, it was the perfect setting. A heartfelt ceremony began at 3:30pm with a bagpipe player where Katie walked down and was given away by her two brothers.

The two bridesmaids and two groomsmen were their four children. It was a very sweet ceremony and the church was so nice and intimate. It was unlike any church I had shot in before. Just stunning and such a historical spot. After doing all of the family pictures, we snuck away to a bar quick. Jake and Katie got to enjoy a cocktail together as husband and wife for the first time. Taking a little time to be together just the two of you before heading to the reception is a nice thing to do. You soak up that moment together newly married and have a little time to yourselves.

After the ceremony, guests were invited to Rudy’s Red Eye Grill at the Holiday Inn in Lakeville for cocktail hour and the reception in the beautiful banquet hall of the Holiday Inn.

For their New Years Eve Wedding, they had stunning decor of blacks and reds with poinsettias and pine cones. Jake also hand made all of the centerpieces for the tables. A very nice slideshow was put together by the Mother of the Groom. The first dance between the newlyweds kicked off the reception. From there they had dinner which was a delicious Italian buffet with pastas and chicken marsala.

The dance then started with the groom and his daughter, and the bride and her father doing the father-daughter dance. From then on the party was started. DJ kept the dance going all the way til Midnight when we counted down to the New Year. In conclusion, this was a great way to kick off 2017!

Cheers Katie and Jake!

Hazeltine Wedding | Rebecca + John

Hazeltine Wedding | Rebecca + John October 2016

Rebecca and John were married on literally the nicest day in October! It was warm and beautiful and the colors were the absolute best for fall foliage. It was the perfect day for their Hazeltine Wedding.

They had their ceremony at Pax Christi Church in Eden Prairie MN Both the gentlemen and ladies got ready there on opposite ends of the church. Shout out to Rebecca’s Aunt Julie who was the organizer/director/helper/seamstress for the morning. She was an awesome help! The church had a gorgeous back yard which is where we decided to have their first look. Rebecca walked down the stairs and came up behind John for their first look before the ceremony. After that we did all the family and wedding party pictures before heading inside to prepare for the wedding ceremony.

Rebecca’s father walked her down the aisle and the beautiful ceremony begun. They were announced husband and wife and celebrated as they walked back down the aisle together. So many guests were there to support them and celebrate with them. Once the receiving line finished up, I snuck away for a few quick shots with Rebecca and John as a newly married couple before heading over to the reception site – Hazeltine National Golf Club.

Their Hazeltine wedding reception was so elegant, from the patio to the cocktail room with a whole wall of windows to the dinner ballroom it was decorated perfectly to a T. Even the details at dinner were well thought out – they had coloring books and crayons for the little ones at the reception. The speeches at dinner were so nice and heartfelt and even comical at parts – so fun! The dance started out with the Bride and Groom’s first dance followed by Rebecca and her father and John and his mother. The DJ rocked out from their and the party began. At one point someone even started a conga line and the night was a blast. So happy for you both Rebecca and John and I had a wonderful time capturing your wedding day! Cheers and best wishes to a lifelong time of happiness!

Below are some of my favorites from their Hazeltine Wedding.

Tanner’s Brook Wedding | Jessica + Karl

Tanner’s Brook Wedding | Jessica + Karl

September 2016 Forest Lake, MN

On a beautiful September day I shot Jessica and Karl’s Tanner’s Brook Wedding. Forest Lake, MN is home to Tanner’s Brook Golf Course and was a lovely setting for a ceremony and reception.

I started the morning at La Grande Beauty Spa where all the girls were getting ready and then met the men at Tanner’s Brook. We got some shots of them before Jessica arrived to get her dress on. Karl and Jessica decided to do a first look and we found a cute spot behind one of the buildings so they could have a quiet and intimate first look. We accomplished all of the wedding party pictures before the ceremony and got in place as guests started to arrive.

The Tanner’s Brook wedding ceremony was absolutely beautiful. White chairs and a floral decorated arch at the front over the greens made a perfect setting. Jessica’s father walked her down the aisle and they tied the knot. A fun group cheered them on as they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.

A lovely reception with fun music and guests made the evening fly by! Luckily we had a beautiful sunset that day and were able to sneak away for some gorgeous sunset pictures out on the greens at Tanner’s Brook.

Below are some of my favorites from the day. Cheers to Jessica and Karl and many years of happiness.
